Description

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Smoke was likely to be visible Wednesday night from a prescribed burn on Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs Road in Annapolis, Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said. Cal Fire was assisting the Northern Sonoma Sonoma County Fire District with the controlled blaze that was set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and be completed by 11 p.m. The plan was to burn approximately 140 acres of grass oak woodland near 13200 Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs Road as part of a vegetation management project, Cal Fire said. "Due to the elevation and location expect smoke to be visible from Stewarts Point Skaggs Springs Road," Cal Fire said. "Resources will be onsite throughout the night. If traveling in the area please use caution." The prescribed burn will comply with the requirements of the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District and was subject to last-minute changes, Cal Fire said.
