BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt. ARRESTS DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE Vladislav Tarlev, 27, of the 800 block of Oxford Place, Wheeling, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of more than .08, driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 12:25 a.m. July 2 at Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads. He was assigned a court date of July 21. Michael J. Bohnstengel, 52, of the 21000 block of Field Court, Deer Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:13 a.m. July 2 in the 1000 block of Fremont Way. He was assigned a court date of July 21. Faramarz Derakhshani, 33, of the 900 block of Diamond Lake Road, Mundelein, is accused of driving under the influence, and was arrested at 12:20 a.m. July 4 at Lake Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard. He was assigned a court date of Aug. 11. SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE Jonnatan J. Contreras, 21, 1000 block of Glenfora Avenue, Waukegan, is accused of having a suspended/revoked driver's license, squealing/screeching tires, operating a vehicle with expired registration, and was arrested at 8:49 p.m. July 2 at Deerfield Parkway and Highland Grove. He was assigned a court date of July 16. LAST WEEK: Dispute Over Lottery Tickets; Dog Potty Issues INCIDENTS RETAIL THEFT A man stole more than $300 worth of merchandise at 8:13 a.m. July 2 from Jewel, 79 N McHenry Road. The merchandise was returned and the man was issued a citation. VANDALISM Graffiti was discovered at noon July 2 on one of the skate ramps at the skate park, 2000 N Buffalo Grove Road. It was removed by Buffalo Grove Park District employees. DRIVING COMPLAINT A driver was confronted by another driver because he did not approve of her driving at 5:21 p.m. July 3 at the Shell Station, 185 N Milwaukee Ave. NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE A confrontation between two neighbors over a barking dog took place at 7:30 p.m. July 3 in the 700 block of Old Checker Road. Both parties were separated upon the arrival of police and agreed to seek alternative ways to resolve any future issues. A resident in the 800 block of Checker Drive reported at 7:53 p.m. July 3 that a neighbor's children routinely cut through her yard to go to the playground. Police contacted the parent of the children and she said she would have her children abide with the complainant's request. LANDLORD/TENANT DISPUTE A tenant in the 100 block of Morningside Lane East reported at 8:42 a.m. July 4 receiving text messages from the landlord she felt were threatening in nature and contained unreasonable requests. Police contacted the landlord, who was encouraged to be civil and cease any harassing communication. INFORMATION FOR POLICE A resident called police at 12:47 p.m. July 4 to report two trees were cut down at Twin Creeks Park, 401 W Aptakisic Road. The Buffalo Grove Park District confirmed the trees were scheduled to be cut down due to disease. THEFT An employee at Walgreens, 15 N Buffalo Grove Road, was stocking shelves and saw a male customer taking an unknown amount of cash from a register on July 5. The employee confronted the male and he ran from the store. HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE A Deerfield Parkway resident reported at 5 p.m. July 5 that he is receiving unwanted phone calls and text message pictures. He informed the caller that they have the wrong number, but she continues to contact him. DISPUTE A maintenance worker in the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported at 9:46 a.m. July 6 the driver of a parked vehicle was verbally aggressive toward him when he asked him to move his vehicle off of freshly paved asphalt to avoid damaging it. The vehicle drove off prior to police arrival. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY A resident in the 2300 block of Crab Apple Terrace called police at 3:30 p.m. July 1 to report a stray golf ball struck and damaged a window at his home. The owner of the golf ball is unknown. DISORDERLY CONDUCT A customer at McDonald's, 1200 N Arlington Heights Road, who was unhappy with a recent price increase, threw her food and drink toward the drive-thru window employee at 5:19 p.m. July 1.
