SUV Crashes Through Barber Shop In Prospect Heights

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, IL — An initial call regarding a fire alarm turned into something entirely different for Prospect Heights police Tuesday night when a sports utility vehicle slammed into a barber shop in the 1200 block of North Elmhurst Road. Two people in the SUV were uninjured during the 8:45 p.m. incident at Mike's Barber Shop, according to police. The building sustained significant damage, as reported by NorthShore Updates from the scene. The men's hair salon is located next door to a Subway sandwich shop in the Convenient Shopping Center. It was closed at the time of the incident. An initial report said a person was trapped, but police on the scene said that didn't happen. An investigation into the incident continues.
