Forsyth Sheriff's Office Investigating Death At Construction Site

CUMMING, GA — Forsyth County deputies are investigating the death of a man who was run over while working in a subdivision. At 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and fire department were dispatched to the Hickory Lakeside subdivision off Pilgrim Mill Road regarding a man who was run over by a vehicle. Based on the investigation, Brian Crook, 49, of Piedmont, South Carolina, was cleaning a concrete pump truck after pumping concrete for a house under construction. Crook set a barrel with water on the edge of the roadway so he could clean the piping on the concrete pump truck. During the process, an air pocket from the piping on the concrete pump truck pushed Crook backward into the roadway, where he was hit by dump truck. Crook was pronounced dead at the scene. Forsyth County Fire Department has notified OSHA. This case remains under investigation.
