TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Tuesday night following a shooting that left one man injured at a red light at 35th Street and 11th Avenue on Friday, July 9. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says Lamarcus Darnell Williams, 34, is charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Click here to subscribe to our free Tuscaloosa Daily newsletter and breaking news alerts Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency unit, said the call of the shooting came in at approximately 4:07 p.m. Friday when a victim reported that a man pulled up beside him while he was stopped at the red light and fired several times into his vehicle. The victim was struck several times, but transported for medical treatment for injuries that weren't life-threatening. "The motive in the shooting appears to have been a personal disagreement between the victim and Williams," Kennedy said. Williams was then identified as a suspect and taken into custody Tuesday night. Kennedy said he was denied bond due to being out on parole for prior charges.
