BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Business Hall of Fame is set to welcome a new class of business leaders, as nine people have been selected for induction for this year's class, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
The induction ceremony is set for Aug. 26.
Inductees for this year include:
Grayson Hall, Jr., former CEO of Regions Financial Corp. John A. Hand, leader of the Alabama banking financial community for more than 40 years.Elmer B. Harris, former chaiman and CEO for Alabama Power. Thomas E. Jernigan, entreprenuer and founder of marathon Equipment Co.Dr. Basil I. Hirschowitz, creator of the first fully flexible endoscope, and member of UAB faculty.Billy Charles Martin, started Martin & Associates in 1959, which became Martin White & Mickwee Advertising.William R. Pettiford, minister at the 16th Street Baptist church and founder of Alabama Penny Savings Bank.Shelley Stewart, former radio personality and president of O2 Ideas.W.
