Description
It is illegal to rent to a person in a wheel chair if they do not have proper exit access, IF YOU ARE CLASSIFIED AS HANDICAPPED, YOU SHOULD NOT BE LIVING THERE, not to be able to leave in an emergency. And as far as a lien on the house 1. you can rent to anyone you want 2. unless you owe someone money, no one can put a lien on no ones house 3. even with a lien you can still have a ramp added on to accommodate handicap access. If you are classified as handicapped then you have to have a ramp, and your land lord knows that, and would have to have it build it for you, he wants your rent money, but won't insure a proper living space for you. Or you're not totally handicapped, and are suppose to try to get around on your own. If a fire breaks out, and you die in it he will be in jail. The law is VERY clear on renting to a person classified as handicapped, and the access they need for ramps/bathrooms/doorways. Please stop trying to scam people, everyone is struggling right now!!!
