Job Summary The Production Supervisor oversees and supports the Production department by assigning personnel, setting priorities, and making sure product is available to meet the requirements. This position trains employees and performs second line quality assurance procedures. APPLY ONLINE @ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Closes work orders “back flush” Requests product from warehouse Obtains price tags/labels as required Assigns priorities to work orders and bin transfers Assigns employees to workstations and specific jobs to employees Assists in developing and implementing of training programs Performs in process quality control inspections Coordinates with Warehouse, Operations Support, and Quality Assurance personnel Responsible for the cleanliness of production and the bubble wrap rooms and product staging bins Ensures compliance with Zak Designs policies to include safety and security Completes required entries on pick slips and work orders Inspects and operates physical equipment and reports defects Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and at least one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of company. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to tactfully deal with various personalities throughout the company and deal effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Must be proficient in utilizing computer programs for processing data and writing reports. Required program applications include: Microsoft Outlook (intermediate level), Microsoft Excel (intermediate level), Microsoft Word (intermediate level), and Apprise experience a plus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. This position is on our Day Shift - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and may require overtime to support business needs.
