Description
Hey man! So we've survived the pandemic and things aren't looking so bleak anymore! Live music is returning! Have you been stuck at home for too long practicing your rudiments? Have you been listening to your old 70's prog rock records, Iron Maiden cassettes, Opeth CD's and streaming new albums by Gojira, wondering if you'll ever find the right outlet for your talent and drive? If so, what better time to get out there and melt some faces again, with the power of metal? We are a 4 piece metal band that is seeking a professional, talented, experienced and passionate drummer to join us on a permanent basis. Our music is for fans of powerful and melodic heavy metal. Think of bands like Iron Maiden, Opeth, Dream Theater, the big 4, and. the like. We like thrash, we like doom, we like traditional metal, we like prog, we like death metal, etc. We also like a wide range of music, not just metal, which helps inform our songwriting. No stock riffing or tired cover songs here! We employ clean vocals, dual guitar harmonies, organs and synths, acoustic guitars, world instruments and whatever else we want to make the music epic and powerful. We play all original music. Currently we are completing an EP and have an album's worth of material waiting in the wings as well. We have interest from labels and promoters, and gigs on the calendar already. We really intend to make our mark in the local metal scene and beyond, but we need a dedicated and reliable drummer to achieve our goals. It should also be noted -while we do this mainly for the fun of creating original music and performing together, we also take our craft and presentation very seriously. That means we have no room for band members with substance abuse issues, untreated mental health problems, immaturity, inflexibility, unnecessary drama, ego trips, or similar kinds of negative risk factors that destroy bands. It's true that bands can be similar to marriages, so it's important that there is a healthy dynamic where band members enjoy creating together, can both challenge and support each other, and at times make compromises for the good of the whole. Good vibes, y'know? The ideal drumming candidate would possess the following qualifications, not in any particular order: 1. have serious love and passion for drumming and live performance 2. have knowledge and appreciation for a range of hard rock and heavy metal styles, as well as other musical genres 3. reliability 4. flexibility 5. experience playing with a click track 6. experience both in-studio recording and live performances 7. be about 25 to 45 years old (give or take a few years) 8. be someone who is nice to be around 9. be both realistic as well as ambitious So if you've read this far, feel free to drop me a message and we can chat. Even if it's not the right fit, it's always cool to connect with more talented and professional local musicians!
