Do you love being around animals? Are you an energetic person who prefers to stay on the move and work outside? Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel is seeking individuals for Kennel Maintenance to help with the daily care of beloved pets from all over Jackson County. Understanding that all animals are individuals and require individual approaches to care is absolutely required. Ideal applicants will have a natural affinity and empathy for animals, be effectively communicative, efficiency minded, adaptable, and have an eye for details. Starting wage is $14/hour. You will receive a.50 cent raise after 90 days, a second.50 cent raise after 6 months, and opportunities for yearly performance-based raises after that. **Main Responsibilities and Tasks** Take the same responsibility for the care of all guest animals as the rest of the staff. Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, play yards, and attached facilities. Transferring guest animals to and from kennels and play yards. Relocating guest animals that show a tendency to roam. Feeding and watering guest animals, and occasionally helping with medication routines. Providing personal attention and emotional support to guest animals, as needed; including cuddling, skritches, and general play. Help monitor guest animal's comfort and health. Help to ensure that all daily tasks are completed in a timely manner. **Capabilities and Experience Required** Ability to maintain accuracy while shifting attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions while maintaining a professional attitude. Ability to cut through confusion and turn chaos into order. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to accurately and consistently follow instructions delivered in oral and written formats. Ability to be consistently confident and kind to guest animals. A willingness to take appropriate steps in finding solutions to problems and present ideas to enhance current procedures. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or climb, as the job requires. Ability to lift, carry, and/or maneuver up to 40 pounds. Ability to perform duties without supervision, as appropriate. Ability to perform all of the above in a work environment that will often reach a high level of noise. **Schedule** Must be regularly available on Sundays and willing to work up to 25 hours a week. Schedule will be created on a monthly basis for other days/hours between employee and manager, up to 30 hours per week, if employee desires.
