JACKSON COUNTY RESIDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THIS ENJOYABLE EVENT FROM YOUR COMPUTER AND GET PAID We are inviting a number of citizens to join us in a jury research project for pay. This event will be held via Zoom meeting software, on MONDAY, August 2, 2021, from 4:30pm to 7:30 pm. You will receive your payment of $75.00, through PayPal, Apple Pay, or Venmo upon completion of the event. If you don’t have any of these payment portals but still want to participate, we are happy to mail you a check immediately after the event. !! Please note, you must have a reliable internet connection and webcam to participate. The participants in this event will listen to a factual summary of both sides of a real lawsuit. We will discuss the facts and ask your opinions about the legal matter and after the presentation we request that you fill out a short questionnaire. You don’t need any special qualifications or experience. We just ask that you listen to both sides of the dispute and that you be as fair as you can. We hope that you can join us for this interesting and educational event. Available slots for this jury research project will fill up fast. You can cut and paste the questions below with your answers into a separate email. *We realize some of these questions ask for personal information, especially with regard to race/ethnicity, income and political affiliation, but it is necessary to make sure we get a cross section of the community. This is information that attorneys ask jurors during jury selection in actual trials. (Jury research is of limited use if we get all men, or all women, or all progressives, or all Caucasians, etc.). The questions are necessary to ensure we get a diverse group, which is how most juries are comprised. *If we are not able to use you for our research on this project because it fills up, please accept our apologies.
