Get a Better Job with Industrial Source and Make Things Happen! Industrial Source is now hiring a full time Cylinder Processor & CDL Delivery position to complete our Portland Team. Shift 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. The position responsibilities will be shared within the following areas: Cylinder Processor, 90% of weekly job duties: Responsible for sorting incoming cylinders, recording all incoming cylinder shipments and verifying order accuracy, loading/unloading delivery trucks by forklift, pallet jack or cylinder cart, maintaining plant organization, assisting customers on the dock during regular business hours, and maintaining accurate cylinder inventory. When needed you'll fill high pressure cylinders and portable liquid containers with industrial oxygen, nitrogen, or CO2, inspecting cylinders prior to filling while following government and industry standard procedures, while also examining returned cylinders for surface defects such as dents, cracks, or burns. You’ll maintain accurate labeling by removing any and all old labels and then cleaning cylinders to make sure those labels are legible, compliant with current federal requirements, and correct for the service intended. You’ll learn the hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks, and you’ll test cylinders for leaks. CDL Delivery, 10% of daily work schedule: Safely operate a Class B delivery truck to deliver compressed industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as industrial/welding equipment and supplies to customer locations throughout the Portland area. Don’t have a CDL? We’ll provide the training. The position is entry level but we are growing and hiring for our future. Promotions from this position happen frequently. This person is truly our quarterback, knowing where all cylinders are located and making sure they are in the right location for each stage of processing. Skills needed: Dedication to safety, teamwork, customer service, pro-active communication, organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and confidence in acting decisively in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment. Dependability….the ability to arrive at work on time, each day, ready to work…is critical. We’re looking for a motivated self-starter with the ability to maintain safety and regulatory agency standards (DOT, FDA, OSHA, etc.) while working under minimal supervision, prioritizing your own workload and exercising independent decision making. Lifting requirements up to 75lbs frequently, with assistance. **Cylinders are made of steel; by design they are heavy and awkward to move. Safe driving record required.
