Basic Function A Camera Installer at Flower City Communications is an individual that can install cameras into vehicles, do minor low voltage electrical and troubleshoot issues for clients. The individual will be comfortable working with low voltage electronics and 12V electricity in a vehicle. This person will be good at taking direction and able to work productively with a team. This role does include major travel that will require travel 5 days per week with overnights during the weekdays. The immediate project being hired for will be approximately 10 hours per day x 5 days per week (with OT pay). Full time work September and October, no work November and December and then full time work from January-June, 2022. After that period, hours and schedule will be determined. Flower City Communications is looking for two crews: one based out of Albany, NY and one based out of Rochester, NY. Note the following: Work hours will be 3 or 4pm to 2am Hotel stays or AirBnB will be provided at each site location for Monday-Friday. Returning home on the weekends is expected. There will be a layoff period from Nov 1, 2021-Jan 1, 2022. Responsibilities 1. To work in the field for the installation of back-up cameras in trucks in a professional manner. 2. Being committed to providing a safe, educated and honest experience for our clients and end users. a) Make installations look “factory installed” without the needs for others to have to touch our work. 3. Arrive to work on time, with professional attire/uniform (supplied) and a positive attitude. 4. Be prepared to listen to our customers’ needs and provide options that are balanced on their needs and what is best for them. 5. Complete Service Orders upon completion of job, documenting materials used, time spent and comments. 6. Manage inventory in company supplied vehicle and keep the vehicle in a clean, safe and organized fashion. 7. Arrive at work with the tools necessary to do the job. Some tools will be provided by the employer. 8. Be available to travel out of the area (overnights) when needed. (see above requirements for this role) 9. A commitment to be better than yesterday, with excellence, no matter whom is looking. Skills 1. Must be mechanically inclined 2. Comfort with 12V electricity and comfort working inside of a vehicle 3. Ability to clearly communicate with clients and relay our professional commitment to them throughout the job. 4. Must be able to lift 30 pounds without issue. 5. Ability to use Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook, Word and Excel. These are ways in which Flower City presents a professional end product to our clients. 6. Honesty and transparency are required and the skill of being able to admit when you do not know something, or you have done something incorrectly. Being responsible. Education/Training Completion of high school, GED or equivalent work experience Experience 1. Proof of a solid track record with a previous employer, having displayed honesty and integrity. 2. We are looking for somebody that is driven and motivated to excel. 3. Having installed electronic components in a vehicle, such as car stereos or other after market equipment is a plus. 4. Security clearance will be needed for a variety of clients. As a result, a clean background check and substance abuse test will be needed. 5. Valid drivers license is required with a clean driving history. 6. Provide your own basic tools (list to be provided). ie: cordless drill, wire cutters, pliers, voltage meter.
