We're looking for woodworking assistance. Important: *** This is independent contractor work. *** Pay is based on what you produce. Please invoice weekly. Net 30 terms preferred but not required. You must have and wear safety glasses at all times. For sanding and cutting wood, you need a personal air filter (respirator). Now the fun stuff... *** Help Make Wooden Toys and Preschool Products! *** Pay is based on $16.80/hr broken into tasks. For example, a repetitive task rated for 60 seconds is worth 28 cents per task completed. A 2 minute task is 56 cents. A 30 minute task is $8.40. (28¢/minute = $16.80/hr) Pay for a competent, focused individual will be higher. *** Example Task: Sanding Branches *** We make wooden blocks from milled stock and kiln-dried branches. This entry-level task involves balloon-sanding 4 ft lengths of kiln-dried maple branches. Pay is by the foot. *** Example Task: Small Blocks Cutting and Sanding *** We make wooden blocks from milled stock and kiln-dried branches. Consistency and accuracy are important. Love of working with wood and toys required. Pricing varies per piece based on amount of work and the accuracy required with miter saw and/or stationary belt sander. *** Example Task: Cedar Stools *** We make cedar log stools using chainsaws, angle grinders, and orbital sanders. Important: *** Please read and respect these requirements: *** This is Independent Contractor Piecework. Flexible schedule as long as you show up when you schedule yourself. Your schedule must be submitted by Thursday for the following week. $25 penalty per day for no-show. Weekday schedule and/or weekend schedule and/or evening schedule are options. Minimum two consecutive days required weekly. We'd love to have you work up to full-time if you are available and able to work efficiently and accurately. Projects vary week to week. You are responsible for tracking your production, communicating your numbers, and submitting your invoices weekly. You must meet the following requirements: Valid non-restricted Driver's License. Working cell phone. Reliable transportation. Physical Stamina. Physical Strength. Able to do repetitive tasks. Able to stand while working. Able to work well with others. Able to show up on time when you schedule yourself. (“If you are not early, you are late.”) Able to self-motivate. Able to use Power Tools safely (with instruction as needed). Able to ask for directions when needed to avoid mistakes and waste. Able to meet agreed upon weekly production targets. Good eyesight. Corrected okay. Attention to detail and quality. Able to track work needed and completed. Able to count and do math accurately. Able to clean as you go and not leave a mess. Clean up is included in the piece rate. No drugs. No alcohol. No smoking. No weapons. No drama. No damage. Must wash and dry hands before work and regularly while working and keep toys clean. Solve problems. Be easy to work with. Experience joy working with wood.
