School Counselors are invited to Frostburg State University for brunch and conversation. Immerse yourself in experiences at Frostburg State University! The Office of Admissions invites School Counselors to campus for a great conversation, a look at why students are choosing Frostburg State, and data about their students at FSU! Led by Jamey Tobery-Nystrom, EdD, school counselors will learn and discuss how schools and parents move forward together by informing, involving, and engaging. We’ll highlight the importance of coordinating efforts, exchanging information and practicing joint decision-making. We’ll help find ways to alleviate conflict between schools and parents by using effective communication and collaboration skills. Through humor and storytelling, participants will develop strategies for improving working with parents. Our goal is that counselors to leave that day with a better understanding of the phenomenal opportunities that await their students at Frostburg State — with the added bonus of related and useful professional content. Counselors will receive an FSU Spirit Box to take to their high schools and data about their students who are interested in Frostburg State.
