Supportive Housing Services is providing QPR as part of our Behavioral Health Training Series for our community partners
Overview: QPR is an evidence-based educational program that helps attendees recognize the early warning signs of suicide and assist a person at risk in getting the help they need. Participants will learn about risk factors, warning signs and common myths about suicide. It is an action plan that can result in lives saved.
Facilitator: Andrew Cartmill, B.S., CPS, has 35 years of experience in health education. He has presented to local and national audiences concerning health and the nature of substance use and gambling disorders. Since 1997, Andy has served as a Senior Program Communication and Education Specialist with Washington County and is responsible for education and outreach. Andy is a certified trainer for suicide intervention programs QPR (Question Persuade Refer) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
