Join Safety and Construction Leaders throughout Indiana for the AGC of Indiana Safety Education Forum11:30 a.m - Lunch and Networking  12:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Health and Safety Forum Program: ANSI Standards SESSION SPEAKER: Richard Smith, Senior Director, Global Product Training at JLG. The standards that govern the access equipment industry have changed. The more you know about these changes, the easier it is to be compliant going forward. Learn more about the new standards for aerial work platform design, safe use, and training in this presentation. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) creates standards that govern the design and use of aerial work platforms across North America. New ANSI standards for the U.S. became effective in June 2020. Everyone associated with aerial work platforms is impacted by the new standards. Owners, operators, occupants, supervisors, manufacturers, dealers, and people that rent aerials will need to make changes in the areas of training, job site safety, and machine selection to accommodate the new standards. There are three new ANSI standards that cover machine design, safe use, and training. Machine Design standards (A92.20) govern the design, safety requirements and testing of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). Safe Use standards (A92.22) govern the application, maintenance, and safe operation of MEWPs. Training standards (A92.24) govern training requirements, topics, and methods for MEWPs. The impact of each of these standards on MEWP users and operators will be covered in this presentation. Please note: The AGC of Indiana Safety Forum is open to ALL AGC of Indiana members.   You do not have to be a dedicated safety professional to attend.
