Description

Bicyclist will compete in Beer-Olympic-Style events between Kickstand, Sag Wagon and Pedaler's Fork collecting medals for their team. The official Gable Olympics will commence Saturday, August 7th at 10AM Central Time. Trials to be held in your own backyard, garage, or kiddy pool. Qualifying teams will need to register through Eventbrite before August 5th. Teams will be made up of 4 participants. All male, all female, or co-ed. Costume theme is American Athletes. $10 entry fee will be given to Special Olympics of Iowa. Commencement Ceremony will be held at Kickstand. (203 16th Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA) Athlete check-in at 9:30am. Event 1 will consist of a rigorous Tricycle obstacle course while athletes maintain composure of their beverage. Event 2 TBA Athletes will depart on bicycles to the next venue, Sag Wagon (287 Shaver Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, IA) Event 3 will have two teams pitted against each other in a tug-o-war, declaring winners via bracket progression. Event 4 Yard Pong with volleyballs. Teams will compete bracket style. Another bicycle departure to the final venue, Pedaler's Fork (2010 Sylvia Ave NE, Cedar Rapids, Ia) Event 5 is a keg toss. All 4 athletes of each team will throw a 1/2barrel. Judges will take the median distance of all teammates to decipher Bronze, Silver and Gold winners. Event 6 TBA Each team collects medals throughout the games. Award Ceremonies and Prizes will be awarded when all events are complete and judges have tallied medals at Pedaler's Fork. Live music by Nashville Recording Artist Dalles Jacobus on the patio will follow. This event is sponsored by Single Speed Brewery and 7G distributing.
