Standing Building Committee Secretary The Standing Building Committee (SBC) seeks a qualified individual to provide secretarial and record keeping work supporting the committee, including customer service, compiling and maintaining information for committee and public use; preparing and posting meeting agendas and scheduling meeting appointments; taking, compiling and archiving meeting minutes in accordance with the Open Meeting Law and completing miscellaneous clerical duties, including preparing bills for review by the committee and for submission to the Accounting Department. Attendance at evening committee meetings is required. Position reports to the Standing Building Committee chair or designee. With the exception of taking minutes, the majority of assigned work is to be performed remotely. The position is part-time (approximately 15-20 hours per month) with no benefits. Governance Study Committee Secretary The temporary (anticipated dissolution date – spring 2023) Governance Study Committee (GSC) seeks a qualified individual to provide secretarial and record keeping work supporting the committee, including customer service, compiling and maintaining information for committee and public use; preparing and posting meeting agendas and scheduling meeting appointments; taking, compiling and archiving meeting minutes in accordance with the Open Meeting Law and completing miscellaneous clerical duties, including preparing bills for review by the committee and for submission to the Accounting Department. Attendance at evening committee meetings is required. Position reports to the Town Administrator. With the exception of taking minutes, the majority of assigned work is to be performed remotely. The position is part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per month) with no benefits. _______________________________________________________ Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma and one year of experience in administrative work; experience drafting municipal meeting minutes preferred. Ability to deal with board members, the public and others in a courteous and tactful manner. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills as well as ability to work independently are all essential for the successful job candidate. Exercising tact, diplomacy and maintaining confidentiality are critical. Position requires interaction with a wide variety of people including committee members, the public and attorneys. Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications required.
