Description
NORTHPORT, NY — Dalilah, a 2-year-old female black kitten, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Cat of the Week.
"Imagine being loved so much by someone, and then finding yourself alone," Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue, told Patch. "That is exactly what happened to poor Dalilah."
Dalilah went to the cat rescue back in 2019 as a kitten. She was the last of her siblings to be adopted before a man came along, fell in love with Dalilah and adopted her.
"Sadly, he fell ill, and poor Dalilah ended up alone for more than a month in an empty home, while her adopter's family did their best to take care of her until thankfully, she came back to us!" Wild said.
The rescue volunteers remember Dalilah as spunky, playful, and extremely sweet, according to Wild.
"It took a little time for our volunteers to break down her wall and show her that she is still loved and not alone," she said. "Dalilah wins the hearts of everyone that meets her. She is in our habitats and is eager to be able to come out and play."
She greets all who come to take care of her, loves to be pet and spoken to, and adores her pink feather toy, Wild said.
"Through no fault of her own, Dalilah finds herself waiting again for her forever home. Dalilah was a wonderful companion. She gave her previous owner tons of love, and we know she still has so much more to give."
Dalilah is spayed, has all her shots, is micro-chipped, FELV/FIV negative and litter box trained.
If you are interested in meeting Dalilah, you can head to the Northport Cat Rescue Association website and fill out an application to let them know you would like to meet her or any of the other kittens and cats. You can also call NCRA at 631-606-2631 or email it at [email protected].
