On Sunday, Haitian investigators said Dr. Christian Emmanuel Sanon, 63, was a central figure in the assassination plot of Jovenel Moïse. Here's what we know so far about Dr. Sanon.
2. His website christiansanon.com redirects to a site called https://haitilivesmatter.com. Both were down as of Monday
3. Sanon has been discussing becoming president of Haiti since at least 2010, according to his Twitter account. He posted infrequently about him heading to Haiti, meeting with government opposition groups and attending political conferences
4. He also discussed reasons why he should be elected president on his YouTube channel, but has not uploaded any new videos in nearly 10 years.
5. He went to Haiti in June via private plane, according to Haitian police. Sanon hired a Doral-based security firm that contracted with the retired Colombian commandos suspected of murdering Jovenel Moïse.
6. Sanon's son of the same name also appears to be a doctor, according to his LinkedIn.
7. According to The Miami Herald, he has over a dozen businesses registered in Florida, including real estate, medical, and energy companies.
8. He filed for bankruptcy in 2013 in Tampa and would lose a home a year later in Brandon, FL when he was over $400,000 in debt.
9. His doctor's license verification cannot be found in the Florida Department of Health database.
10. A search operation at his house revealed 20 boxes of bullets, six pistol holders, four license plates from the Dominican Republic, and a hat with the DEA logo.
