FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth police are trying to find out if another abduction attempt took place at a convenience store in town Sunday night. The incident was the third reported abduction attempt in Falmouth this summer. Around 9:50 p.m., Bourne police called Falmouth police and said they were with a 31-year-old woman in Cataumet, who told officers someone possibly tried to abduct her at a Falmouth convenience store at the intersection of Old Main and County road. The woman provided police with a license plate number and a vehicle description. Police said the vehicle belonged to a Sandwich man. Sandwich police checked the owner's address, but didn't find the man or his vehicle. Falmouth police said the investigation is ongoing, and part of it is determining if the incident was an attempted abduction or a misunderstanding. Lt. Douglas DeCosta said police do not know if the incident is connected to two previous abduction attempts this summer. Last month, a 16-year-old girl escaped an attempted abduction while walking home from her job in downtown Falmouth. And on May 22, a 23-year-old woman told police a man chase her to her home on Clinton Avenue. Police described the suspect as a white man with a dark hoodie
