BROOKLINE, MA — A Brookline resident has been appointed as chief medical officer for Volunteers of America of Massachusetts (VOAMASS), a nonprofit that creates opportunities through behavioral health treatment, re-entry for justice-involved individuals, veteran services, and senior living. Samata Sharma, MD, has worked as the medical director at VOAMASS for over 10 years and is affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital. In her new role, Sharma will provide clinical oversight, care review, medical compliance, and coaching for clinical staff. She is board certified in psychiatry, consult-liaison psychiatry, and addiction medicine, and has more than 15 years of experience in the medical field.
