Description
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The commission designated to zoning Montgomery County for council seats will meet for the sixth time this week, taking a look at potential maps for districts. It'll meet on June 14 at 5 p.m., and will be live-streamed on the county's Facebook page.
The County Council currently has five district seats and four "at-large" councilor seats, meaning that those councilors do not represent one particular area of the county. Eleven Montgomery County voters were appointed to the Commission on Redistricting in January to create seven districts — the council will be made up of a councilor from each district in addition to four at-large councilors, not tied to a district.
The sixth meeting of the Commission on Redistricting will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, July 14 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the Montgomery County Council's Facebook page.
