BURKE, VA — As Bunnyman Brewing prepares to open on New Guinea Road in Fairfax, the Burke area will have its own brewery (stay tuned for an opening date). With that milestone in mind, there's no doubt Burke residents have other businesses they'd like to see open.
We asked our Burke Patch readers what kinds of businesses they want to open. Most of the responses centered around food, and a few mentioned live music.
One important factor for readers may be proximity to their homes. Reader Jen Jones mentioned that some of the businesses needed in town have locations 20 to 25 minutes away.
"That gets tough with little kids and busy schedules," Jones wrote.
Multiple responses called for non-chain businesses, a desire that isn't unique to Burke residents. Reader Katie Townsend believes mom-and-pop shops may have trouble affording the rent.
Below is a roundup of responses we've received. Let us know in the comments what other businesses you'd want to see.
