Description

PRINCETON, NJ — The New Jersey American Water Company (NJAW) will be replacing water mains and individual service laterals in Princeton this summer. The work will be undertaken as part of the company's Capital Improvement Program. The existing water mains in the township date back to the early 1950s and are near the end of their life cycle. Old unlined cast iron water mains build up deposits that lead to discoloration, taste and odor issues, and reduced flows to fire hydrants. NJAW's contractor, CRJ Contracting Corporation, Inc., will be replacing water mains in the following streets: Stanley Avenue - 660 LF Fisher Avenue - 820 LF Leavitt Lane - 1,100 LF Deer Path - 1,100 LF Construction is scheduled to begin by mid or late July and is expected to be completed by mid-September. To provide residents with more information on the upcoming work, NJAW has scheduled two virtual neighborhood meetings. A neighborhood pre-construction meeting will take place on July 15 at 7 p.m., for Leavitt, Fisher, and Stanley residents. Click here to register in advance of the meeting. The second meeting is scheduled on July 15, 8 p.m. for Deer Path and Clover residents. Click here to register. Thank you for reading. Have a correction or news tip?
