Description

Come learn to play the great sport of rugby and meet the team! The training event (from 9a-12p) will consist of covering the basics of rugby: rules, strategies, terminology, etc. Bring cleats if you have them, gym shorts and a shirt you don't mind getting dirty; mouthguard optional; water-bottle recommended. This will be light-contact (i.e. two-hand touch; no tackling). The more questions you have, the better. The social event afterwards (12p-5p) is our Annual Pig Roast where old and new players alike come to share a few drinks, build community, and get excited for the upcoming season. $10 covers the cost of training, as well as admission to the Pig Roast (normally $20/ticket). Feel free to bring friends and family (kids welcomed) to the social. This event is at our clubhouse (21618 Van Dyke, Warren, MI, 48089). Detroit Rugby Football Club (DRFC) is Southeast Michigan's premier rugby club. Our mission is to show Metro Detroit how amazing this sport is, and continue growing our great community. We consist of a Mens D3 team, Womens D1 team and Wheelchair D1 team. We are the only sports club in the area with our own clubhouse, where we host monthly events to continue our mission.
