AUSTIN, TX — A person killed in a fatal car crash on Mopac Expressway during Fourth of July weekend has been identified, police said Friday.
Leslie Doleshal, 76, was killed on Saturday, July 3 after his car was struck by a truck traveling in the 11100 block South Mopac Expressway.
Police said around 12:06 p.m., the black Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound on the expressway when Doleshal, who was driving a Honda Civic, was exiting a private drive and failed to yield the right of way to the truck.
The driver and passenger of the Toyota as well as Doleshal were taken to a nearby hospital. The 76-year-old later died of his injuries at 4:05 p.m., authorities said.

Police said this is Austin's 56th fatal traffic crash of 2021, resulting in 58 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2020, there were 36 fatal crashes resulting in 38 fatalities.
