AUSTIN, TX — A suspect was detained after SWAT was on scene near State Highway 71 and Old Bee Caves Road for a "gun urgent" call, according to police.
At 3:29 p.m., authorities said the suspect was detained and taken into police custody. Officials had closed Old Bee Caves Road to traffic around 2 p.m. after police were alerted the suspect had a gun. It is not clear if officials have reopened the road to traffic.
Police said they received a 911 call around 12:28 p.m. for a suspicious person in the area. The call was then upgraded to "gun urgent"and authorities immediately closed the road to SWAT.
The identity of the person has yet to be released. This is the second SWAT call to occur near State Highway 71 in the past 24 hours.
