Press release from the Arapahoe County Government: July 9, 2021 Arapahoe County To Host In-Person Job Fair Arapahoe County is hosting an in-person job fair on Saturday, July 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CentrePoint Plaza, 14980 E. Alameda Dr. in Aurora. The County is seeking qualified candidates to work in the following departments: Facilities and Fleet Management Community Resources Clerk and Recorder's Office Open Spaces Human Services Public Works Sheriff's Office Interested candidates should visit https://bit.ly/ArapahoeCountyJobFair to register prior to the event. New Quincy/Gun Club intersection opens to ease congestion along E-470 On the southwest corner of Quincy Avenue and Gun Club Road, the partners who paved the way for a new intersection geared to ease traffic congestion gathered on a key piece of property that was once proposed to be a gas station. That property now overlooks the new $12 million partial continuous flow intersection (PCFI), which is a modern traffic design geared to decrease congestion at this busy intersection. It features a new trail that includes a modern underpass connecting to the Arapahoe County trails east of Gun Club Road. Sheriff's Office receives rare Triple Crown accreditation honor The Sheriff's Office is the first law enforcement agency in the United States to attain "Triple Crown status" under a fourth sheriff. This accreditation is so rare, only 49 sheriff offices in the U.S. have attained this status and only 22 have attained it under a different sheriff than the one who had originally attained the Triple Crown Award. Arapahoe County seeking volunteers for the annual Fair Anyone 16 and older may apply for the July 22-25 event Arapahoe County Fair organizers are looking for enthusiastic and fun-loving people to volunteer their time during the 2021 Fair, July 22-25. Individuals and groups are needed each year to help make the Fair a success, and our volunteers will fill a wide variety of positions, including gate ambassadors, exhibit hall greeters, Open Class judging, staffing Heritage and Homestead booths, photographers and more. Arapahoe County officials discuss road maintenance with Box Elder community As road maintenance continues to consistently rank among Arapahoe County residents' top priorities, County officials held a virtual public meeting this week with members of the Box Elder Creek Ranch community to address their concerns about road conditions in their neighborhood. On July 6, District 3 Commissioner Jeff Baker joined the County's Public Works and Development (PWD) Road & Bridge Division for a public forum with Box Elder residents to discuss possible road solutions, the budget challenges inherent to this and all road maintenance projects, and the property tax dynamics within the 116 five-acre properties that make up the community.
