Track, Cross Country Teams To Host 4th Annual 'Meet & A Movie'

PLAINFIELD, IL — Curious how you'd fare at track and field events? The track and cross country teams at Plainfield High School - Central Campus are hosting the fourth annual "Meet & A Movie" event July 29. For $5, community members of all ages get unlimited access to several track and field events, including long and high jumps, toddler dash and mini hurdles. They can also try the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes and one-mile run at the event. Running requires significant amounts of energy, so after, participants can relax on blankets to watch Disney's "Coco," which will be screened on the football field's video scoreboard. Money raised at the event through admission will go toward the track program at the high school. Registration for the event starts at 5:30 p.m. at 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive. Field events will begin at 5:45 p.m., and running events are planned to start at 6:15 p.m. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and spread out on the football field to watch the movie, organizers said.
