Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: Chris Barnum-Dann, the owner of Localis Restaurant, which got a "plate" in the Michelin Guide, found a creative way to help his workers stay working through the pandemic. Now, he's competing on a new national show airing on Saturday! (ABC10) If you love mochi as much as I do, you'll be glad to hear that Osaka-Ya, a staple of Sacramento's Japantown, has emerged from the pandemic victorious! Osaka-Ya is one of the few remaining restaurants from what was once a bustling Sacramento Japantown before WWII. It was touch and go, but loyal customers came to their rescue and they are now up and running and serving up the summer favorite ice cream covered with shave ice. Try some! (CBS Sacramento)There was a great fund raising event at Rancho Murieta Golf Club on Monday. The Playmakers put on the inaugural celebrity golf tournament to help kids in need get involved in sports. Harrison Phillips, defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills showed up to play some golf and help some kids, as did other sports celebs and Olympians. (FOX40)The City of Sacramento dropped its lawsuit against a city council staffer after a judge tentatively denied the city's restraining order. Skylar Henry made comments in a recent podcast allegedly supporting destructive protests at the homes of some council members. The judge ruled that the city failed to present clear evidence that Henry is a threat.
