A vacancy exists for a Teacher Assistant – Head Start to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services – Head Start at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit! This full-time position serves students ages 3-5 years old. Qualifications: High School Diploma required (must obtain CDA within 18 months of employment); CDA or Associate's Degree preferred.Ability to perform the following physical activities: stoop, run, sit, stand, walk, bend, lift children, carry thirty (30) pounds, be outside in all seasons, be inside, prepare food, hear within normal ranges, and see within normal ranges.Ability to work with and relate to young children and families of diverse backgrounds.Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the teacher by performing essential classroom tasksHelp to supervise and accompany students during activities within and outside the classroomAid the teacher by working with the students in small groups or on an individual basis in various instructional and learning activities. Location:The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit Head Start program has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA. Vacancy location and classroom need will be determined during the interview process.
