Role Description: This position exists to pick, load, unload, stack, or move finished truss products as needed for delivery requirements within the saw area, production area and truss yard. This position will usually use a forklift to help accomplish these tasks. Responsibilities: Pull truss packages and stage for delivery, band trusses together, stack trusses together in an efficient way so as to make loading and delivery easier Band together, stack and place finished trusses out in truss yard in organized and accessible fashion, in a manner which will cause little to no damage and allow easy access for delivery in the future Communicate with Truss Manager, Production Scheduler and Center Manager concerning loading and production needs to adhere to delivery schedule Upkeep of all yard areas – inventory is organized, neat and orderly, trash is removed and areas are free of clutter Maintain daily maintenance checks for forklifts with regards to safety and servicing Adhere to company safety rules and procedures All other requests as assigned by supervisor or company management Skills Needed: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions, Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work well with others in a team environment Kimal Forklift Certification required Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and hear, get on and off forklift machinery in proper and same manner. Often required to climb or balance. Occasionally required to walk. Regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally required to lift up to 100lbs. Regularly required to use close vision, distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). ********************************************************************************************************** Basis for Performance Checkpoints: • Be able to stage trusses in yard and pull for deliveries without damage to the trusses, forklift, or to any other inventory – as needed to stay ahead of delivery schedule • Be able to complete a reasonable amount of storage and staging requests (based on established company standards), keeping ahead of delivery needs, and stacking in such a manner as to allow the safe, efficient delivery of the trusses once they are loaded on the trailers • Be dependable to arrive at work on time, as scheduled; adhere to company safety rules • Assist customers both internal and external with a friendly, servicing attitude, enthusiastic and open to helping out in any way possible • Perform job responsibilities with little to no product damage, operating forklift in safe manner
