BEVERLY HILLS, CA — To transform Beverly Hills into a more sustainable community and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, city officials are calling on community members to help develop a Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. The city is looking for five community members to join a Community Advisory Committee. Members will need to meet four times over the next 18 months to weigh in on the goals and scope of the plan. "The goal of the CAAP is to improve the quality of life in the Beverly Hills residential community, reduce the City's carbon footprint, enhance the business community and economic vitality within the City, and mitigate and adapt to the future impacts of climate change," city officials wrote in a statement. Participating members will work on recommendations for stakeholders, policies and programs and ideas on how to engage the community. "In order to do so, it is crucial to have open dialogue amongst the various stakeholders within the community and receive your feedback and input," city officials said. Those who are interested must submit an application by August 6. Anyone who has questions about the committee or the plan to make Beverly Hills more sustainable can call 310-285-2467 or email the city, [email protected].
