ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — An extensive national search for Molloy College's next provost has ended with the selection of Dr. Michelle Piskulich.
She comes to the Rockville Centre institution having previously been senior associate provost at Oakland University in Michigan.
Piskulich accepted a newly structured position of provost and vice president of academic affairs, the college said in a statement.
Piskulich, who succeeds Ann Branchini, begins her tenure on August 23.
The school's search committee looked at dozens of applicants, but they said Piskulich stood out for experience leading and managing faculty initiatives and academic programs, the school said.
"Michelle Piskulich is an accomplished academic leader who has the skills to lead the academic mission of Molloy College and to do so with a commitment to our strong sense of ethics and values," James Lentini, president of Molloy College, said in a statement.
She was recognized for her outstanding leadership by receiving the 2021 Distinguished Women in Higher Education award from the Michigan ACE (American Council on Education) Network.
