WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man has been arrested and charged after he entered a Northbridge home over the weekend to visit a woman he met via the social media app Snapchat, according to police.
Northbridge police said the 26-year-old went to a home along Washington Street around 1 p.m. Sunday for the meetup. He was inside the home for about 15 minutes before he realized the person he met on Snapchat was not there.
"He realized he was being scammed/mislead and he left the residence," Northbridge Chief Timothy Labrie said in a news release Tuesday.
Police circulated home surveillance images of the man following the Sunday incident. An anonymous tipster identified him, Labrie said.
The man turned himself in to police in Northbridge Tuesday afternoon and was arrested on a charge of felony breaking and entering during the daytime. He was ordered held on cash bail ahead of a Wednesday court appearance, according to police.
