WE WIN! COURT FORCES NEWSOM TO FOLLOW THE LAW Last week we brought an Emergency Motion to Intervene in Newsom’s lawsuit against his Secretary of State. Newsom failed to designate his party affiliation 16 months ago, when he was required to do so and wanted to skirt a law he signed, so the word ‘Democrat’ would appear next to his name on the upcoming recall ballot. Newsom recently realized he missed the deadline and he knew his self-appointed Secretary of State would not oppose him in Court. We anticipated the same thing and we were right. Today the Court ruled in our favor: Because Newsom failed to meet the deadline, the Court held that Newsom cannot list his party affiliation next to his name on the recall ballots. As one Democrat political strategist recently described, many California voters will vote for a candidate simply because the word “Democrat” appears next to their names and there are thousands of California voters who may not know Newsom is a Democrat. All we wanted was for Gavin Newsom to follow the law. Period. California Attorney General candidate and Lead Counsel for the California Patriot Coalition, Eric Early, stated: “We are grateful for today’s Court decision causing Gavin Newsom to follow a law he signed which he sought to skirt. Newsom thought he could go to Court and get his case rubber-stamped without opposition. Then we showed up and said, ‘not so fast.’ The Judge followed the law and that is all we can ask for. It is about time that Gavin Newsom be required to follow the law, just like he has forced all of us to do during his over-the-top, many times unconstitutional and generally wrong rules, orders, lockdowns and closures.” Lead Proponent Orrin E. Heatlie stated, “This is yet another vitally important step in our historic effort to RECALL Gavin Newsom. Today the courts restored a sense of justice and this ruling gives us confidence in the system of checks and balances in our state. No one is above the law. We fight for every California citizen of all walks of life, from the entire political spectrum, every race, ethnicity and culture. Everyone will need to vote “Yes” to question number 1 on the recall ballot and we will all win again!” Mike Netter a key proponent in the recall stated, “This ruling shows Gavin Newsom is accountable to the laws of the State of California. On September 14th he is going to be accountable to the people.”
