Aubrey Vineyards is hiring many people to form a team of Vineyard Harvest Technicians. Be willing to receive a short notice for availability as grapes are allowed to stay on the vine until the latest possible date. You may receive notice of 1 to 2 days before actual harvest. There will be 8-11 harvest times starting mid-August thru mid-October as the grapes ripen at different times. Shifts start early in the morning and work as late as necessary to complete the picking. Sometimes, a particular harvest will take 2 days. An 8 hour shift is guaranteed per day if you work the number of hours we give you. For example, if there is a quick harvest of 4-5 hours and you stay the entire 4-5 hours, then we will pay you for an 8 hour shift. If you voluntarily leave early, you will not receive the full 8 hour pay. You will be provided appropriate clippers and bins to collect grapes. You will be instructed as to how to clip the grapes and which grapes to select. Please bring layered, comfortable clothes as many times the weather is different in early morning than afternoon. Wear water-resistant work boots that you can stand in for the day. You will be on your feet most of the day. Long sleeves are recommended to minimize vines irritating your arms. Bring your own water bottle and lunch. Water breaks and lunch break will be allowed. You will be hired as a contractor and will be paid $16/hour.
