Small family owned and operated lobster business looking for smart, dependable self-starters to help us improve operations on our wharf. Job will consist of approx. 50 hrs/week with a rotating opening/closing shift schedule. **Immediate Start **Zero tolerance for illegal drugs **IRA + Company Match Job Description: 1. Early Morning (~4am): Bait and fuel up lobster boats. Unpackage frozen bait, shovel fresh bait, operate fork lift (will train) to rotate and shift containers of bait, unload arriving bait supply trucks. Control bait quality and manage inventory. Operate hydraulic winch to lower bait containers onto waiting fishing boats. Lower fuel hoses to waiting boats. Lifting and dragging bait boxes. 2. Morning (~7a): Sell lobsters Either operate hydraulic winch to raise crates of lobsters, unstring crates and hook onto winch, or assist in back of box truck to drag and stack full crates of lobsters. Requires ability to get into back of truck, drag crates, lift crates. 3. Throughout Day (~9a-4p): Buy lobsters Attend arriving fisherman to unload their catch, accurately weigh, summarize weights and expenses, and organize on floating lines. Sometimes requires lifting crates up to 100 lbs but usually done in tandem with another person. Through the fall: Assist loading/unloading trailers with lobster traps, other odd maintenance jobs on wharf. Working Hours during season 4a – 4/5p, Monday through Saturday during peak lobster season (Late April – December), reduced hours through November and December. Requires work on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays. Days off to be scheduled.
