POSITION SUMMARY As a Diesel Technician you are responsible for following shop operations and performing repairs and daily preventive maintenance on Diesel Equipment – trucks and trailers on an as needed basis. Willingness to learn and grown within the company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Proper Diagnostics of various equipment • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations • Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine • Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions. • Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts • Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts • Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance. • Completing oil changes, alignments and brake checks • Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles. • Operating trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies. • Able to properly read conventional and precision measuring instruments. • Process inspection, certification, and documentation • Heavy Duty Equipment knowledge MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) • High School diploma, or equivalent • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license • 2 Year minimum required • Must have own tools to work with
