Description
Detailed list of work needed but multiple jobs and maybe multiple people will be hired. Proof of COVID shot and safety masks will be required. Foyer Floor - MAJOR PRIORITY – THIS WEEK The first and most important is the worst of all. I have a front foyer that I had to take up the old tile because of the previous owners and now my animals have urinating on it. (Long story.) It will eventually need a subfloor and hopefully epoxy flooring put in. But right now, I need someone to come cut up the current smelly vinyl that is not attached/glued down. I have linoleum cutters. Pull up the white plastic under it. That's not attached either. I have new plastic and a new vinyl/rug to take the place of it until I get the floor done. This will take about two to three hours if the person is strong enough. The vinyl I have down is commercial store quality, so it is heavy. Rolling it up and taking it out would be ideal but because of the weight and the smell it is not something you will want to throw over your shoulder, etc. It is a 17'x5' area. SPECIAL NOTE: Epoxy - If you know how to install subflooring and a nice water-tight floor I am listening. I would LOVE to get this floor done but I'm sure the urinating is not going to stop anytime soon because I have an older dog, but she still has some time before she goes and because she has done it I’m sure our other dog will continue for a little while longer, also. So, it would have to be sealed correctly. This would be the perfect opportunity for someone who has just learned epoxy application and needs an area to really express themselves. Tile - Someone who knows tile or has just learned to tile and knows how to seal it, I am also willing to listen. I am willing to try a new person out if they can prove to me, they know how to do the subfloor. I am a former construction site manager. I know when I hear something if it is real or not. I would like to have atleast two references on your abilities. Pictures would be nice. Someone who could prep subflooring off site and then install it the day of or the day before the actual flooring would be ideal. I would prefer someone who has the means to haul this away instead of me putting it in my trash can. Gutter I have a section of gutter that needs to be fixed correctly. It keeps drooping and it requires some extra work and support. Solar Panels I have a 20-panel array of solar panels. They need to be cleaned. This requires a soft mop which I have and some Dawn liquid. The mop is light but the one section at the top of the mop head that connects the mop to the handle can be heavy and that cannot just be plopped down. You break a panel, you buy it. Other Jobs These jobs will all required someone who is Licensed, Bonded, and Insured. This will be verified before the job starts, the day the job starts, and periodically through the job. House Return Air using Flexible Piping/Small Enclosed Space We have an empty area originally built WAY TOO large for a return air intake system. The area is approximately 7’x5’x36’. This house was built in 1963 with no air conditioning but even for the original heater that was too big of an area. We would like to add flexible hosing or small compartment lined with something like Thermo-Pan versus plain wood or drywall. This is more common in houses in the South, where I am from, and I know that it works better than what we currently have in this house. This will require three “T” sections as the air take system starts on the top floor and goes down three floors. This is an easy project it just needs someone who knows how to install it correctly. Something like this but the entire area where this is located is open and under the main floor of the house. Actually, it is a standing up area so it is not even along the house it is just the height of the house that can use a ladder. If we can find the right person, we may add a UV sterilizing/HEPA filter system. There are several other options we may include on this system. Someone that understands temperature-controlled venting and dampers would be great. We may even consider adding additional return registers to other parts of the house to distribute the air flow evenly throughout the house. There is an additional project discussed below about this large space. Bathroom Exhaust Fans Two of our current bathrooms exhaust fans and lights are vented directly into the attic. They do not have any ducting/piping directly to an outside source. Not even venting towards the gables. I need that changed along with updating the actual units themselves. Drawers In the Stair Wall This project would be a little different because instead of under the stairs we need drawers/cabinets to go in the wall going up and down the stairs. The space mentioned above about Return Air System is the same area. We would like to convert some of the space into a storage area. Preferably, with openings from the stairs but if not, it can just be framed out in the room it is close to making a closed storage closet. Something like this but in reverse over the stairs: If we could find the right person to do this job, we have a room where the wall was put up with old plywood paneling. They put a half closet in the room. It would look great if we could either put a fully closet – width of the room in or additional extension of the closet wall with built in drawers. Something that makes the space usable instead of dead space. Recessed Cabinets in different walls Here is a video explaining what we would like in several places in our home. We do not need anything fancy. We just need those little storage areas because this house has little to no storage. Here is a video to give you an idea of what we need. In several locations in our home. Part of the area mentioned above in the Return Air system is open all the way to the top roof of the house. It could easily be converted to a small not very deep linen closet. Garage Ceiling with Access Doors and Ladder Our garage has no ceiling and is vaulted. We currently have some boards laying over beam so we can store items. We would like to see a real ceiling put in with additional support so we can throw items up there and access them only when we need them. Someone who knows how to install an attic ladder would be great. I would like to see additional cross brace supports put in to ensure the area is completely safe. I would be happy with above and below the beam plywood sheets with insulation in between. No drywall needed. I do not want hanging storage because these are vaulted rafters and are not energy efficient. Even if we were to drywall/insulate the vaulted area it still would not be very efficient storage area because only a part of it would be usable. If you can do this job, we may repeat the process in the main house attic. With cross beams, plywood sheets, and an attic ladder put in this could be additional storage that we need. This area is already insulated. These two attic areas do not connect, and they are in separate areas of the house. _____________________ I will buy all supplies for these projects. Unless you can prove you can buy the items for cheaper at Home Depot, etc. and not mark it up. I will pay you on a per hour basis unless we can come up with a reasonable project price. I do not pay until you have completed the job. Unfortunately, over the years, I have had handymen decided to take days and sometimes weeks off between different aspects of a project, usually after I pay them. This has resulting in me just having a mess or hiring someone else. For all the jobs that require major work like installation of epoxy, tile, tearing down walls, etc. we will create a contract and have specific completion times, payment, and other required information detailed making sure you get paid as well as me having a completed product. I understand that these projects are wide in scope and require a variety of different skills. This posting does not have to be for just one person. It can be for several people. My husband will kill me if I try to do all these projects at one time. Especially since he works from home. I am sure for the right person I will be able to find other projects in our house in the long term. We need our kitchen and atleast one bathroom remodeled. We have a living room with a vaulted ceiling that we would like to take out and have a wide doorway from the living to the kitchen create so we can convert the older style house into an open living area. My old contractor has move to Hawaii. I paid him enough of ten years with different projects in different houses, so he could afford it. I need a new contractor/handyman.
