Poverty/Hunger Interactive Simulation and Avon Food Pantry Organizing Project Overview: Join us for an interactive immersion experience where participats will become sensitized to the realities of povery & hunger. This simulation strives to bridge gaps from misconceptions to understanding of hunger and poverty. Following the workshop we will work in our food pantry, sorting and organizing donations for our next distribution. What to Know: Cleveland has the second highest poverty rate among big cities in America at 35%, rising from previous years. While some parts of the city are thriving, like the booming restaurant industry and the growing entrepreneur base, the reality is that many are trapped in poverty & cycles of hunger. Age Restrictions: Participates must be 13 years and older Parking: Journey Church Avon has their own parking lot you can park in and walk right into the facility. Arrival: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to give yourself time to park and check in with our Hope Week Team. Can’t wait for you to join us for this Hope Week project! We are excited to partner with Leadership Lorain County for this event! They will be hosting this impactful Poverty simulation which you will not want to miss! Our Mission : We believe that when you GIVE hope, you GET hope! The Cleveland Hope Exchange is a movement combating HOPELESSNESS across Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio to meet the needs of individuals in order to speak to their potential. We exist to break the cycle of despair and aim to build bridges between existing nonprofits to accelerate their mission. @leadershiploraincounty More about Leadership Lorain County Here
