This summer we will host an educational summer program for youth, ages 8-13 in Tivoli Lake Preserve! This summer we will host an educational summer program for youth, ages 8-13. Participants will learn about gardening, composting, animal care, and other topics fostering connection to the natural world through hands-on activities such as art activities, turning the compost pile, gardening, taking nature walks and much more. This program will have 16 total sessions and occur on all Mondays and Tuesdays starting July 12 and go through August 31. The program time is 1-3 pm. Children can be dropped off around 12:45 pm with pick up at 3 pm. Below is a loose schedule of the themes for the sessions: July 12 - EatSmart NY ProgramJuly 13 - Urban GardeningJuly 19 - EatSmart NY Program and mini animal lesson w/KimJuly 20 - Pollinators w/TatiannaJuly 26 - EatSmart NY Program and mini flax lesson w/DanJuly 27 - Hudson RiverAugust 2, August 3 - Plants and WaterwaysAugust 9, August 10, August 16, August 17 - EcosystemsAugust 23, August 24, August 30, August 31 - Human ImpactWe are accepting donations for this workshop on a sliding scale basis with a minimum suggested donation of $5. However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds, so please use this link to request free access if you need. ♥ Your donations help support our project! Donations are used towards paying educators, animal costs, art and garden supplies which are all used in the Preserve. COVID-19 Protocol: Participants must be free of COVID related symptoms. Please note, if you are showing signs of COVID related symptoms and cannot attend a session, you will have the option to request a refund of your donation.We will ask participants to maintain social distance (6′) from one another.Mask policy ~ We kindly ask that you wear a mask while working alongside others and within enclosed spaces. Please feel welcome to remove your mask when socially distant. It is our goal to create a safe and inclusive space to connect with ourselves, each other and the Earth. We recognize that everyone within our community has different health needs and access to health care. Because of this FTLPF has decided to maintain its mask policy.
