This course is designed to teach each student how to properly self access their skill level, and techniques used to achieve sub second pro.. This course is designed to teach each student how to properly self assess their skill level, and techniques used to achieve sub second proficiency. This course is developed for the committed shooter seeking the capability of high performance shooting from themselves and their firearm. For anyone who has reached their plateau and would like to get past it. Students should have a base level of skill before attending this course. They should know how to load, unload, and reload their firearm safely. Students should also be familiar on how to safely draw their guns from their desired carry position. They should also have a basic grasp of fundamental shooting techniques. Topics Covered: 1. Fundamentals of shooting a handgun with speed and precession and why we need to have both. 2. Pro-perception index and frenetic motion - how to individually self assess ones ability to build consistency in their performance 3. Body Mechanics and "why" its important 4. Coach Backs /Teach Backs - Peer Review an why we do them and what to look for. 5. Gear discussion: pros and cons of holster selections 6. Carry positions: IWB vs OWB vs AIWB debate and considerations 7. How to obtain a sub second draw from concealment from any hand position 8. AGC's "AIM SMALL; MISS SMALL" and the visual agility needed to accomplish reading sights sooner not later To attend the class students will need the following items: A quality, reliable firearm with at least 3 to 6 magazines or 4 speedloaders for revolvers. A safe, quality holster (contact us if you have questions about what this is).SERIOUSLY CALL 501-218-6999 for holster requirements. All the usual PPE for the range. Eye protection (not sunglasses), ear protection, a hat, and weather appropriate clothing. A folding/camp chair, snacks, and water, Gatorade, etc. are also recommended. ABOUT AARON My name is Aaron Acklin, and I am the founder, owner, operator and primary instructor at Aaron’s Gun Cabinet. I am a certified handgun instructor with over 320 hours of development/training, a certified small arms armorer, and a federally licensed firearms dealer/manufacturer. Not only have I earned a Rangemaster Certification from Tom Givens, but I am also extremely proud to be an Endorsed Instructor of Scott Jedlinski’s Modern Samurai Project. Other nationally respected instructors with whom I have trained include Steve “Yeti” Fisher of Sentinel Concepts, John Johnston of the Ballistic Radio podcast, William Aprill of Aprill Risk Consulting, Mike Seeklander of Shooting Performance, Spencer Keepers of Keepers Concealment, Craig Douglas of ShivWorks, Chuck Haggard of Agile Training and Consulting, Pat MacNamara of TMACS Inc., and Gabe White of Gabe White Training. Since 2011, it has also been my pleasure to serve D.A.R.C. (Direct Action Resource Center) as an opposing force volunteer during force on force scenarios for local and regional S.W.A.T. teams, special operations forces, and other various military units. Aaron Acklin is Arkansas Native; He has been a full-time Certified Handgun/Long-Gun Instructor, 07FFL/72MFG,SOT Dealer, and Certified Small Arms Armorer in the Firearms Industry for the past 8yrs.  Aaron has also trained with nationally known instructors such as Steve "yeti" Fisher, John Johnston (Ballistic Radio), William April, Mike Seeklander, Spencer Keepers, Craig Douglas, Tom Givens, and Chuck Haggard, Pat McNamara, and Gabe White. Aaron also has 198 instructor development/training hours. Aaron's priorities and values are guided by GOD, Family, and Country! In 2018 Aaron became a RANGEMASTER Certified Instructor. Aaron also has volunteered at D.A.R.C(Direct Action Resource Center) for the past 8yrs as Opfor for local, regional swat teams, S.O.F and other various Military units running Force on Force scenarios.
