Welcome to Week 6 of the Central Texas Throwdown! This week, we are challenging grip with this spicy little metcon. For Week 6 we are going to Grip City! For Time: (13 minute time cap) 15-12-9 Power Cleans (155/105)(115/75) Pull-ups Immediately into.. 9-12-15 Deadlifts (205/155)(165/125) Toes to Bar Scaled movements will be ring rows and hanging knee raises. Athletes will be responsible for adding weight onto their bars for the deadlifts. All CrossFit 'Open' standards will be held for each movement. Standards: Power Cleans: Barbell begins on the ground, touch and go is permitted. The barbell must come up to the shoulders, with the hips and knees fully extended and elbows in front of the bar. Pull-Ups: Athlete must reach full extension at the bottom. The chin must pass the horizontal plane of the bar to be completed as a successful rep. All kipping is permitted. Ring rows: Athletes will start with their feet directly under the rings, with rings at belly-button level. Legs must remain locked out throughout the rep. Rings must be pulled to arm pits to count as a successful rep. Deadlifts: This is a traditional deadlift with hands outside of knees, sumo is not allowed. Hips and knees must be fully locked out with head and shoulders behind the bar. The arms must remain straight throughout the lift. Bouncing is not allowed. Toes to bar: Arms and hips must be fully extended at the bottom. Feet must break vertical plane behind the bar. Both feet must touch the bar at the same time. Hanging knee raises: Arms and hips must be fully extended at the bottom. Feet must break vertical plane behind the bar. Knees must be brought above the hips. There will be an "OPEN" division available for teens and seniors. Scales for this division will be determined upon arrival. Keep your eyes out for our standard video this week!
