Our fall semester open house and parent orientation meeting is a convenient opportunity to meet the perfect music teacher for you or a family member. Options available for students 6 months old through adults. Take demo lessons with some of our professional teachers, attend a Half-Pint Harmonies or Suzuki Violin demonstration, set up a string rental, and lock in a lesson time. Parents can speak to our friendly staff about registration and program details, and attend a 15 minute parent meeting at 2:00 PM to learn more about our programs including children's choral ensembles, Royal Conservatory Method music theory, group piano, music history, and youth ensembles. UNCSA's Community Music School provides a complete musical education that includes regular instruction with professional faculty members, recitals, chamber music options, and music theory/ear training courses. Private Lessons: Students registered for the open house can take a short 15 minute demo lesson with a teacher. Demo lessons available in piano, violin, cello, guitar, voice, drums, woodwinds, and brass. Piano lessons are available for ages 5 and up, including group class options! The Community Music School is proud to partner with Half-Pint Harmonies to offer early childhood music education at the Stevens Center in downtown Winston-Salem, and on the main campus! Half-Pint Harmonies offers super fun, high energy music and movement classes for children ages newborn through five. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate in classes, which meet for 45 minutes once a week for 10 weeks. The more caregivers participate, the greater the connection with your child! Families can visit Saturday morning classes on September 11 or18 on the main campus of UNCSA as part of our fall semester open house. Sections are available for grades K-2, (9 AM) 3-4 (10 AM), and 5-8 (11 AM) on Saturday mornings.
