A neighborhood-centric bike ride through out the center-city and concluding at the Black Culture Festival at Parcel 5, Downtown Rochester. ROC Freedom Riders Bike Blitz to the Fest Saturday, July 31 | 10 a.m. Meeting Location: Parcel 5, 285 E. Main Street at 10 a.m.. Kickstands go up at 10:30 a.m.. After the ride, cyclists will return to Parcel 5 to support the 2nd Annual Black Culture Festival featuring food, art, music, entertainment, local brands and more. Route: Throughout downtown Rochester, down Monroe Ave, up East Ave, and conclude at the 2nd Annual Black Culture Festival at Parcel 5 (across from Liberty Pole). Approximately 8-10 miles. Ride Goal: Learn about local Black brands, purchase services and goods on-site. As always, please bring cash to support Black brands. Merchandise: ROC Freedom Riders merchandise available on-site for purchase. -- About Black Culture Festival: In its second year, the Black Culture Festival celebrates Black music , food , dance, fashion, art, literature, inventions, history, spirituality, and dialect. The Black Culture Festival allows an opportunity for Black people to unapologetically celebrate Black culture and accomplishments. It's also a great opportunity for people who are not Black to learn more and help celebrate. ***This bike ride has limited rest stops to encourage all bicyclists to spend time resting, learning, and enjoying the festival. Liability Waiver: You are volunteering to participate in a ROC Freedom Riders bicycle brigades and that you are solely responsible for your own actions. You agree to release and discharge from all liability ROC Freedom Riders and each of their agents, owners, investors, officers, employees, volunteers, participants, guests, and community members. You recognize the risks of bicycling, which may or may not be listed, associated with the use of bicycles and bicycling riding--including but not limited t crashing, tipping over, being struck by a moving vehicle, physical, mental, emotional injury, or even death. You are solely responsible to abide by local bicycle laws. You confirm that you are physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of participating in a ROC Freedom Riders bicycle brigade. You agree to expressly assume any and all risk of injury or death that may occur during bicycling events. You agree never to sue and release from liability ROC Freedom Riders of all incidents or accidents while participating in ROC Freedom Riders bicycle brigades. You understand that photographs will be captured during ROC Freedom Riders bicycle brigades and may be used for promotional purposes.
