July Deluge Further Eases Danvers Water Restrictions

DANVERS, MA — While your lawn might not exactly be thirsty after the rainiest start to July in state history, Danvers has further eased outdoor water restrictions after the latest deluge. Danvers moved to Level 2 water restrictions on Monday — meaning that residents can water their lawns with a sprinkler or irrigation system anytime after 7 p.m. and before 8 a.m. "The rain volume experienced so far in the month of July has placed the Ipswich River flow at a substantially higher level which prompted the decrease in outdoor water restrictions," town officials said. It was just a week ago that Danvers was at Level 4 restrictions — meaning residents could only use sprinklers or irrigation systems between 7 and 10 p.m. two nights a week.
