Cooling Centers Reopen In Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA β As temperatures in the area creep toward 90 degrees and the heat index inches towards 100 degrees, many Prince William County residents are looking for ways to stay school. To help out, the Prince William County government announced that libraries in the area would be available as cooling centers on Monday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 13. In a news release, the county said the heat index could reach 105 degrees on Tuesday. Cooling centers at each of the county libraries will be available to any member of the public until at least 5 p.m. Larger libraries will be open until 8 p.m. Hot and humid today, with heat index values climbing to above 100 in many spots this afternoon.
